Please allow 2 working days for a response.  If you need more urgent help, call your GP.  If your practice is closed, visit NHS 111 Online or call 111.  In an emergency call 999.

The practice is open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:30 (except for staff training - which are on Tuesday afternoons, approximately monthly).

We have some Nurses/Clinic appointments available to book online via the NHS app.

If you are not registered for the NHS app please visit NHS App and your NHS account - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

We operate staggered Surgery times to cater for as many personal circumstances as possible.

If you require an appointment please call 01257 444960.

Each face to face consultation is a 10 or 15 minute appointment.  This is ample time for our doctors to assess a single issue.  If you feel you may need a longer appointment due to more than one medical concern please inform us at the time of booking and we can book a double appointment for you in the next available surgery.

Where possible you can see the doctor of your choice, but in urgent cases or unforeseen circumstances your appointment will be with the first available doctor.

Enhanced Access Service

Patients registered at our practice are able to access evening and weekend appointments via our new Enhanced Access Service.

These are available in limited numbers between 18:30 and 20:00 Monday to Friday and on Saturdays between 09:00 and 17:00 at:

Whittle Surgery, Chorley Health Centre, Withnell Health Centre, Dr Dawoud's Practice and The Surgery Chorley.

We offer a range of GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist and other Health Professional Appointments during these hours.  These are both Face to Face and Virtual.

The clinician carrying out your assessment and consultation will have full access to your GP record and will be able to complete all necessary investigations and prescription needs.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to come to the surgery a home visit can be arranged. Please telephone the surgery before 10.30am giving the patients full name, address and telephone number. Also please give a brief summary of the problem so that the Doctor can assess what could be needed prior to visiting.

If the visit is urgent please advise the receptionist thus avoiding unnecessary delay.

If you can get to the surgery, please do so. If you have a temperature or a rash, coming into the surgery will do no harm and will not endanger others. If a problem is very urgent we can then try to fit you in as soon as possible. Home visits are intended to be for those who are too ill to come to the surgery, not for those for whom it is inconvenient. Please remember that we can see several people at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
