DESMOND is an NHS organisation that helps to deliver high quality patients education to people with type 2 diabetes, or those who are at risk of diabetes.
DESMOND is the acronym for Diabetes Education and Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed (Diabetics).
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust delivers the DESMOND Type 2 Diabetes Structured Education course in our area. This is beneficial for our patients as it actively encourages them to contact us directly and self-refer.
